Belgian tourist Celine Cremer's death in Tasmanian wilderness
Belgian tourist Celine Cremer, 31, died in Tasmania's wilderness after deviating from a walking track at Philosopher Falls on June 17, 2023, during near-freezing winter weather conditions. A coroner's investigation determined that a confluence of errors, including inadequate preparation for winter conditions and the timing near the winter solstice, contributed to her death. She was reported missing almost 10 days after setting out on the walk.
