Ousted Bangladeshi leader vows to return from exile despite facing death sentence

Former Bangladeshi leader Sheikh Hasina has vowed to return from exile despite facing a death sentence in her home country. Hasina fled Bangladesh by helicopter in 2024 after nearly two months of violent protests that resulted in approximately 1,400 deaths according to the UN. Her defiant statement was made on the second anniversary of her ouster.
