China-linked LightSpy Spyware Targets 13 Countries

China-linked spyware called LightSpy has been discovered targeting victims across 13 countries, including the United States. Researchers were able to link the malicious activity to a Chinese company after one of the spyware operators made an operational security error by placing a KFC order using their real name and office address. This discovery highlights both the widespread reach of sophisticated state-linked cyber operations and the vulnerability of attackers to simple mistakes.
