TikTok to pay $400 million to settle DOJ child privacy lawsuit
TikTok has agreed to pay $400 million to settle a Department of Justice lawsuit filed in 2024 alleging violations of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The DOJ claimed that TikTok collected data from children without parental notification or consent and failed to delete accounts as required by law.
