Enhanced geothermal notches another win as Google buys 400 MW from Fervo

Google has signed a power purchase agreement with Fervo Energy for 400 MW of enhanced geothermal energy, with potential expansion to 1 gigawatt. This deal represents a significant milestone for enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) as a viable renewable energy source for powering large-scale AI data centers. The Utah-based project could provide sufficient clean energy to support one of Google's massive computational facilities.
