Thousands of lightning strikes trigger fresh wildfires in western Canada

Western Canada is experiencing one of its most intense wildfire seasons on record, with nearly 34,000 lightning strikes over the past week triggering fresh blazes across the region. British Columbia alone has at least 90 active wildfires and 25 evacuation orders in place as of Friday.
