Victorian premier Ben Carroll pushes ahead with SRL spend despite hinting at pause
Victorian Premier Ben Carroll has reversed his earlier suggestion of pausing the Suburban Rail Loop project, instead committing to moving forward with the first stage (SRL East) while reducing its overall cost by approximately 6%. The revised project aims to save around $1 billion through changes to the scope of the 26km tunnel stretch between Cheltenham and Box Hill.
