S&P downgrades Senegal's credit rating after debt restructuring announcement

S&P Global Ratings has downgraded Senegal's credit rating deeper into junk status following the government's announcement of a debt restructuring plan. The ratings agency indicated that a distressed debt exchange or default on foreign-currency commercial debt is "extremely likely" given the country's financial situation.
