Pinochet-era soldier jailed for killing folk singer Víctor Jara

Nelson Haase Mazzei, a retired colonel, has been apprehended more than 50 years after the 1973 murder of Chilean folk singer Víctor Jara during the Pinochet era. Mazzei had fled Chile in 2023 after being sentenced in absentia along with six other retired soldiers for Jara's death.
