Android app developers unknowingly sharing user location data

A new Electronic Frontier Foundation study reveals that Android app developers may inadvertently be allowing third-party code libraries to collect and share their users' location data with advertisers. Developers who grant location permissions to their apps may not realize that integrated third-party services are harvesting this sensitive information. The findings serve as a warning for developers to more carefully audit the code and permissions of external libraries they incorporate.
