Isla Bell death: man previously accused of killing Melbourne teen loses bid to have final charge dropped
Marat Ganiev, 55, has unsuccessfully challenged his remaining charge of perverting the course of justice in connection with the death of 19-year-old Melbourne woman Isla Bell. Bell's remains were discovered in a bag at a Dandenong rubbish tip in November 2024, approximately six weeks after her death. Ganiev's legal bid to have the charge dismissed has been rejected, allowing the prosecution to proceed.
