Volvo is implementing a new connected safety system that allows its electric vehicles to communicate directly with each other to warn drivers about road hazards, including animals and vulnerable road users. Unlike crowdsourced alert systems used by navigation apps such as Google Maps and Waze, this system relies on vehicle-to-vehicle communication. The feature is being rolled out across three of Volvo's electric vehicle models.
