Isla Bell death: man previously accused of killing Melbourne teen loses bid to have final charge dropped
Marat Ganiev, 55, has failed in his legal attempt to have the charge of perverting the course of justice dismissed in connection with the death of 19-year-old Melbourne woman Isla Bell. Ganiev was initially charged with Bell's murder after her remains were discovered in a rubbish tip in Dandenong on November 20, 2024, approximately six weeks after her suspected death. The unsuccessful bid to drop the remaining charge means the case against him will proceed.
