Australian woman missing in Nepal flooding makes contact with family

Cara Severino, a 25-year-old Australian woman reported missing in catastrophic flash flooding in Nepal, has made contact with her family after more than two days, confirming she is safe. She is the first of 39 Australians reported missing in the disaster to be confirmed alive, though she still faces a trek of over 110km on foot to reach Kathmandu. The flooding has killed at least 469 people and left more than 1,500 missing across the China-Nepal border region.
